The
wastewater system currently consists of 311 miles of collection mains that convey
wastewater to the Palm Valley Water Reclamation Plant. Liberty Water's collection system
covers an approximately 20 square mile area bordered by El Mirage Road and Dysart
Road to the east, Camelback Road to the north, I-10 to the south, and 195th Ave
to the west. The collection system also includes two lift stations; the 1,050
gpm Sarival Lift Station, and the 350 gpm Casitas Bonitas Lift Station. Sarival
Lift Station pumps wastewater from the western portion of the service area to
the Palm Valley Water Reclamation Facility.
Liberty Water constructed and commissioned a 4.1 million gallon per day water reclamation facility in 2002, which is known as the Palm Valley Water Reclamation Facility (PVWRF). In 2008, Liberty Water completed a major renovation of the plant that included significant odor improvements and added a third treatment train for redundancy and process stability. This facility averaged 3.2 MGD in 2008 and supplies Class "A+" reclaimed water to a number of local golf courses and parks in the area. Over 1.1 billion gallons of wastewater was treated at the PVWRF in 2008.
